A major centre for jewellery manufacturing and state industrial centre, Rajkot relies on gold and silver for its thriving jewellery industry. The first Common Facility Centre (CFC) for Jewellery in Rajkot was inaugurated in 2022 . Giving a boost to the jewellery manufacturing business, The CFC was set up by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC). Established with the support of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the centre was aimed to provide access to capital-intensive state-of- the-art machinery & technology. Previously the technology was not in the reach of individual small & medium Jewellery manufacturers.

Rajkot supplies to over 50 percent of the jewellery clusters across India and is known for its exquisite craftsmanship. Rajkot has around 1.5 lakhs skilled artisans engaged in Jewellery manufacturing. The city is famously known for engaging more than 50,000 artisans in plain gold manufacturing and 100,000 artisans in silver jewellery manufacturing. It also has more than 15,000 jewellery units that produce an average of 150 metric tons of handmade plain gold jewellery each year.
