The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty edged higher on Friday in a volatile session as energy companies such as Reliance Industries rallied after the country simplified oil and gas licensing rules. Sensex closed 94.65 points up to 24,717.99, while Nifty rose 24.05 points to settle at 7,510.20.

Tata Motors: Stocks of the company ended 1.61 per cent up at Rs 354 after the company informed bourses that the group’s global wholesales figures in February 2016, including Jaguar Land Rover, were at 99,842 units, higher by 17 per cent, in February 2015. Cumulative wholesales for this fiscal were at 947,504 units, higher by 8 per cent over the last fiscal.
Skipper Ltd: Stocks of the company ended 2.18 per cent up at Rs 140.30 as it has secured two new orders from Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) for supply of transmission towers in the domestic market. The total order is valued to be approximately worth Rs 120 crore.
PSU banks: Shares of state-run banks fell after credit rating agency Crisil downgraded eight PSBs following deterioration in their asset quality and also revised the outlook on five of them to negative. IDBI Bank ended 1.44 per cent down, Corporation Bank settled 2.73 per cent down, Dena Bank fell 0.70 per cent, Andhra Bank (1.60 per cent) and Bank of India (0.32 per cent down) on BSE. Shares of Indian Overseas Bank lost 1.49 per cent, Central Bank of India dipped 1.33 per cent, Syndicate Bank reversed the losses and closed 0.33 per cent up, Uco Bank closed flat (0.00 per cent), PNB (closed 0.18 per cent up) and Canara Bank (ended 1.39 per cent up).
InterGlobe Aviation: Shares of InterGlobe Aviation closed 2.02 per cent up at Rs 821.75 as it is all set to take delivery of its maiden new engine technology aircraft A320neo, becoming the first domestic carrier to have such a plane in its fleet.
Power Grid Corporation: Stocks of the company settled the day 1 per cent down at Rs 138.10 after its board approved a total investment of Rs 885 crore in projects to strengthen transmission and augment transformation capacity.
Godrej Properties: Stocks of the realty firm closed 1.15 per cent down at Rs 275.90 as it a sales revenue of about Rs 700 crore from the second phase of its luxury housing project at Vikhroli in Mumbai launched on 10th March 2016.
Welspun Corp: Stocks of the company closed 4.77 per cent up at Rs 97.70 after it won an order for supply of 200K MTs pipes for an offshore project in the Middle East. With the addition of this order, the current order book of the company has crossed 1136 K MTs worth Rs 6,500 crore.
