CLOSING BELL
The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty swung between gains and losses on Tuesday and ended the trade with marinal gains of around 0.15 per cent. The 30-share index closed 40.96 points up at 27,787.62, while the 50-share index settled 19.85 points up at 8,528.55.
In the 50-share index, BPCL, Idea Cellular, ICICI Bank, Power Grid and Lupin gained between 2.08 per cent and 3.21 per cent. On the other hand, HUL, IndusInd Bank, YES Bank, Eicher Motors and Axis Bank slid between 0.87 per cent and 2.98 per cent.
Sectorwise, the BSE FMCG index, Consumer Durables, Realty and Bankex slid 0.62 per cent, 0.29 per cent, 0.26 per cent and 0.15 per cent. The BSE Oil & Index, Power, Healthcare and TECk index gained 1.90 per cent, 0.64 per cent, 0.48 per cent and 0.44 per cent, respectively.
Shares of cinema chain operators PVR and Inox Leisure closed 9.40 per cent and 3.38 per cent up at Rs 1122 and Rs 247.50, respectively.
3.26 pm: HCL Infosystems was trading over 5 per cent down at Rs 42.30 in the late trade.
3.11 pm: Meanwhile, Jindal Cotex locked in at upper circuit of 20 per cent at Rs 15.75.
2.41 pm: Pil Italica Lifestyle shares gained over 4 per cent after it informed bourses that it has received order of 11,800 pieces of Dust Bins from Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, Andhra Pradesh and made contribution towards Swachh Bharat Mission -Step towards Cleanliness, a project started by Prime Minister of India.
1.50 pm: IT major Wipro was trading in red ahead of its first quarter earnings numbers which will be declared later in the day. Shares of the company was at Rs 548.80, down 0.58 per cent, against their previous close of Rs 552.
1.27 pm: Ashoka Buildcon’s subsidiary Ashoka Concessions (ACL) has emerged as ‘the Lowest Bidder’ at the Financial Bid opening meeting held on July 19, 2016 at New Delhi, for bid submitted to National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The company quoted bid project cost is Rs 1,600 crore. Shares of the compan were trading 3.37 per cent up at Rs 167.40. Sensex was down 51 points at 27964. 1.19 pm: Ultratech Cement was trading 0.50 per cent up at Rs 3,517. The posted a net profit of Rs 774.92 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2016 as compared to Rs 604 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

12.53 pm: Meanwhile, PSU bank gained after the government allocated Rs 22,915 crore to 13 public sector banks for the current financial year. Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 1.06 per cent up at 2,930.90. Sensex was up 54 points at 27800. Nifty was trading 26.20 points up at 8534.90.
12.06 pm: Exide Industries were trading over 2 per cent down in the noon trade despite the company registered a surge of 25.91 per cent in its net profit at Rs 196.05 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2016 against Rs 155.71 crore in the same quarter last year.
11.54 am: Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) has received its shareholders’ approval to sell its 1,000 MW power plant in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh to JSW Energy. According to the deal, JSW will pay at least Rs 4,000 crore, excluding net current assets, and an additional Rs 2,500 crore if JSPL’s 1,000 MW power plant in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh secures a long term power purchase agreement. Shares of JSPL were trading 0.22 per cent up at Rs 69.10.
11.35 am: Meanwhile, HDFC Ltd’s issue of Rs 3,000 crore rupee-denominated bond in overseas market is credit positive as it will help determine benchmark pricing for potential issuers including PSUs like IRFC, REC and PFC, Moody’s Investors Service said today. Shares of HDFC were trading 0.32 per cent down at Rs 1,340.85.
10.54 am: In the 50-share index, Idea Cellular, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Zee Entertainment and Bharti Airtel were up between 1.45 per cent and 2.51 per cent. On the other hand, HUL, IndusInd Bank, ITC, Hero MotoCorp and Mahindra & Mahindra were down between 0.69 per cent and 2.33 per cent.

10.29 am: Mindtree was trading 5.22 per cent down at Rs 581.75. The IT firm on Monday posted a 3.7 per cent drop in consolidated net profit at Rs 123.5 crore in the first quarter of the ongoing fiscal. Sensex was up 37 points at 27782. Nifty was trading 8.30 points up at 8,517.

9.46 am: Meanwhile, Indian rupee opened 3 paise higher at 67.22 against dollar.
9.22 am: Sensex was down 2 points at 27,744. Hindustan Unilever shares were trading 2.11 per cent down at Rs 901.

9.15 am: Sensex opened 43.39 points up at 27,790.05, while Nifty opened 5.60 points up at 8514.30. Jaiprakash Power Ventures was trading 9.72 per cent up at Rs 6.66.
PRE-MARKETS
Domestic benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty are likely to open in green on Tuesday tracking SGX Nifty and mixed global cues.
Asian markets edged slightly lower in early trade on Tuesday. US markets advanced on Monday, with the Dow Jones and S&P 500 posting record closes amid robust earnings.

Sensex fell for a second straight session on Monday as the 30-share index wiped off all of its early gains to end lower by 90 points at 27,746.66 on widespread fag-end selling amid weaker opening in the European markets.
Jaiprakash Power Ventures on Monday reported a standalone net loss of Rs 196.16 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2016. The company had reported a net profit of Rs 66.96 crore in the year-ago period.
Sajjan Jindal-promoted JSW Energy will acquire Jaiprakash Power Ventures’ 500 MW thermal plant at Bina in Madhya Pradesh at base enterprise value of Rs 2,700 crore.
