India’s rice exports in April-Aug 2026-27 saw a slight increase of 2.17%, reaching $4.81 billion. However, supply disruptions and high freight costs due to the West Asia conflict have caused delays and increased expenses for exporters. Middle Eastern countries are also adopting a cautious approach, creating a long-term challenge for the Indian rice industry in exporting to Europe, other markets.
