The sister-brother duo of pharmaceutical company Lupin — Vinita Gupta, CEO and Nilesh Gupta, MD — has been declared as the EY Entrepreneur of the Year for 2015 for their “phenomenal transformation” of the pharmaceutical company’s growth both within and outside India, while creating shareholder value in a short span of time, consulting firm EY announced on Thursday.
EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award, in its 17 th year, recognises entrepreneurs for their achievements. The award is self-nominated, and adjudged by a jury. For the year 2015, the 11-member jury was chaired by Adi Godrej, chairman of Godrej Group. Other members included Subodh Bhargava, chairman of Tata Communications; Rahul Bhatia of Interglobe Enterprises; and Arundhati Bhattacharya, chairperson of State Bank of India, among others.
The jury gave away the lifetime achievement award to F C Kohli, former vice-chairman of Tata Consultancy Services.
