At the CES 2026 in Las Vegas, HERE Technologies, a global leader in location data and technology, showcased its pivotal role in the era of software-defined vehicles by announcing major navigation advancements with two key automotive players: Lucid and Hyundai AutoEver.

Starting with a significant integration for the electric vehicle (EV) market, HERE announced that its navigation SDK has been incorporated into Lucid’s vehicles, including the Air and Gravity models. This partnership provides Lucid drivers with seamless in-vehicle navigation and connected trip planning capabilities. The system is integrated directly into the Lucid UX 3.0 digital cockpit, offering a highly customised experience for EV owners.

Lucid taps HERE for smarter EV routing

A critical component of this integration is the optimisation of EV routing. Using HERE data, Lucid vehicles can now perform intelligent planning that accounts for range and efficiency while providing data to support battery preconditioning before DC fast charging. Furthermore, the ‘EV Range Spider’ feature offers real-time updates, visualising exactly which destinations represent reachable points based on current charge levels, while incorporating recommended fast-charging stations.

Beyond navigation, Lucid is leveraging HERE’s data to enhance safety through Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS). The platform provides precise location data for features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and hands-free Drive Assist within Lucid’s DreamDrive system. Additionally, Lucid utilises HERE data for Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA), ensuring drivers remain aware of posted speed limits in adherence to European mandates.

“It’s exciting to work with the Lucid team as they push the boundaries of EV innovation,” said Stuart Ryan, senior vice-president and general manager of the Americas at HERE.

Simultaneously, HERE Technologies announced the expansion of its online navigation partnership with Hyundai AutoEver, the mobility software subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Group. This collaboration impacts over 1 million Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles equipped with advanced cockpit platforms in North America and Australia.

Through this expanded partnership, Hyundai AutoEver has improved its infrastructure, shortening its map data update cycle by more than fivefold. By leveraging HERE’s high-definition map data and AI-powered capabilities, the system rapidly incorporates new roads, speed limits, and points of interest.

Hyundai, HERE eye-lane level navigation and Navigation on Autopilot

Looking towards the future, Hyundai plans to evolve this service into a streaming navigation solution using HERE’s flexible APIs. The companies aim to deliver next-generation features including lane-level guidance and Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) capabilities, which pave the way for future automated driving functions.

“Our partnership with Hyundai AutoEver is a testament to what’s possible when innovation meets scale,” said Deon Newman, SVP and GM for Asia Pacific at HERE Technologies.

With a history spanning 40 years, HERE continues to define the future of software-defined vehicles, revealing new opportunities for intelligent travel.
