But, in Bengaluru, there is one modest person who owns a Rolls Royce Ghost and now is the proud owner of a Mercedes-Maybach S600. However, unlike an industrialist or a person with a strong financial ancestral background, this person is a barber by profession. Ramesh Babu is the barber who has not won a lottery in the past but worked hard to achieve his goal of owning luxury cars. Apart from his main profession, he also owns a fleet of luxury vehicles for renting out. In fact, the recently purchased Maybach was rented out by German delegates visiting Aero India in February 2017. This car costs Rs 3.2 crore and is not available in India directly from the carmaker and Ramesh did take a loan on the car, apart from the down payment.

The 45-year old's journey began when he was 15 and had to take SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate), quit his school education and earning for his family by working as a barber. Ramesh is the third person to own the Mercedes-Maybach S600 in the city. Apart from him, Vijay Mallya and a city-based builder have one. Even today, Ramesh goes to his salon daily and spends five hours cutting the hair of his regular customers. The earnings from the salon are modest, but his fleet of cars under the name of Ramesh Tours and Travels is his main income source which includes 150 luxury cars. He rents them out to a good clientele and this fleet is what he has built over his 30-year journey. Keeping humillity as his core strength, Ramesh still charges about Rs 100 for a haircut, however, if you want to rent out his Rolls Royce Ghost, it may cost you Rs 50,000 for a day. For someone renting out such a vehicle, the rental cost is simply meagre.
