BMW X1 launched with new petrol variant in India at a price of Rs 35.75 lakh

BMW has expanded its petrol vehicle's range in India and has discontinued some of the diesel variants in the portfolio.

After launching the new petrol variants of the 3-Series and 7-Series, BMW India has now launched the new petrol variant of the X1 SUV. The new BMW X1, which is available in the xLine trim is priced at Rs 35.75 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi and is available only in one version. This implies that the German car manufacturer is expanding its petrol variants range in the country as the demand for petrol vehicles as compared to diesel one has increased in the recent past. The company has also discontinued the BMW X3 30d M Sport from its lineup and the SUV now gets only the 20d diesel and 28i petrol engine versions.

Talking about the new petrol X1 version, its is powered by a 2.0 litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces a maximum power of 189 hp and churns out a peak torque of 280 Nm. The same engine also does duty on the new BMW 3 -Series 30i that has replaced the 20i version. The company has increased the power figures by 9 hp and 10 Nm, respectively. The transmission duty is performed by a ZF-sourced 8-speed automatic transmission. The carmaker claims that the BMW X1 with the 2.0 litre engine can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph dash in 7.7 seconds.

There are no major changes made inside the SUV and it is equipped with features such as LED headlamps, LED tail lamps and 18-inch alloy wheels. The comfort and convenience features include dual-zone automatic climate control, electrically adjustable driver and front passenger seats as well as auto start/stop button. The safety package consists of six airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and ISOFIX seats as standard. BMW X1 is now available with five body colours and two interior upholstery options.
