On the flip side, some frontline stocks dragged the market. ITC, Titan, Trent, and Bharti Airtel were among the notable laggards that capped overall gains.

Midday movers that caught attention

Outside the benchmark indices, stock-specific actions created some buzz. Blue Dart Express surged nearly 10% in the intraday trading session after announcing a shipping rate hike of 9–12% effective next year but closed significantly off at early highs.

Man Industries slumped 13% in the intraday trading session after SEBI imposed a penalty of Rs 25 lakh and barred the company and its top executives from market access for two years. JSW Holdings remained under pressure, hitting the lower circuit and slipping 5% in today’s trade. J&K Bank moved in the opposite direction, rising 5% in the intraday trade.

Top sectors in today’s trade

Non-ferrous metals lead the pack as the space gained 2.4%. Rubber sector stocks also saw positive traction, ending 1.5% higher, while the leather sector added 1.44%.
