Mark Zuckerberg, one of the world’s richest CEOs, is also popular for the examples he sets in his personal life. The Facebook head, who is currently on a two-month leave to take care of his pregnant wife, is winning accolades for his love and care towards his family. Zuckerberg, announcing about his leave on Friday, also highlighted the importance of spending time with the family. “When Max was born, I took two months of paternity leave. I will always be grateful I could spend so much time with her in the first months of her life. Our new daughter is coming soon, and I’m planning to take two months of paternity leave again,” Zuckerberg tweeted.
“This time, I’m going to take advantage of Facebook’s option to take leave in parts. I’ll take a month off to be with Priscilla and the girls at the beginning, and then we’ll spend the whole month of December together as well. I’m looking forward to bonding with our new little one and taking Max on adventures,” he added.
He also told users about the flexible leave policy of Facebook. “At Facebook, we offer four months of maternity and paternity leave because studies show that when working parents take time to be with their newborns, it’s good for the entire family. And I’m pretty sure the office will still be standing when I get back,” he said.
Commenting on Zuckerberg’s post, Facebook users heaped praise on Silicon Valley CEO for setting an example for the world.
“It’s awesome that you’re setting the example for the rest of the company in taking this time off. Too often people get the time but don’t take it. It’s an incredible benefit and one that I and my family so appreciative of,” Russ Maschmeyer, a Facebook user, said.
Here’s how people praised Zuckerberg:
“Well done and thank you for leading by example. I wish more companies and CEO’s would follow your lead. Enjoy the time you have to bond with the new baby, Priscilla and Max!” Susanna Giboni, a Facebook user, commented on Zuckerberg’s post.
“Thanks for setting a great example, Mark. Congrats to you on your growing family! Sisters are the best, but you already know that,” Amy Bendell, a Zuckerberg follower, commented.
