Hindalco Industries, the flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group on Wednesday reported a growth of 11.56% in its net profit to Rs 2,860.9 crore for the full year ended March 31, 2008 against Rs 2,564.3 crore in FY07. Net sales for the period stood at Rs 19,201 crore, up 4.84% compared to Rs 18,313 crore last year.

For the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2008 the company?s net profit grew Rs 1,077 crore against Rs 721.3 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Net sales for the quarter was Rs 5,010.2 crore, up 5.50% compared to Rs 4,748.9 crore in the previous year.

However, the company?s EBIDTA reduced to Rs 940.9 crore in the fourth quarter from Rs 1,173.2 crore in Q4 of FY07. EBIDTA for the full year was Rs 3,894 crore, down by 11% compared to last year due to lower realisation and higher cost due inflationary pressure.

Birla Nuvo PAT dips

Due to the higher losses in the life insurance business, the consolidated net profit of Aditya Birla Nuvo for the year ended March 31, 2008 has lowered by 46% to Rs 150.8 crore from Rs 280.9 crore for the last year. The consolidated annual revenues grew by 45% from Rs 83,668 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007 to Rs 12,134 crore. The group has posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 21.84 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 against net profit of Rs 82.2 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2007. Total income is Rs 3,804 crore for the quarter against Rs 2,652 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2007. The telecom business registered a 54% rise in revenues at Rs 6720 crore

Videocon net up 9%

Videocon Industries posted a 8.55% rise in net profit at Rs 251.22 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 231.43 crore recorded for the quarter ended March 31, 2007. The company reported a 15.96% increase in total income at Rs 2538.78 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2008, as compared to Rs 2,194.45 crore achieved during the previous corresponding period.

Bosch Ltd net dips

Bosch Limited, erstwhile Motor Industries Co, flagship company of Bosch Group in India, reported a dip of 12% in net profit to Rs 161.72 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 183.8 crore during the same period last year. Total income grew to Rs 1,233.65 crore

for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 as against Rs 1,150.77 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2007.

Bosch Chassis at loss

Bosch Chassis System India, a subsidiary of Bosch group has reported a marginal loss of 3.8% for the quarter ended on March 31, 2008 at Rs 10.72 crore as against Rs 11.15 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year. Net sales for the quarter stood at Rs 137.77 crore, up by 3.5% as against Rs 132.99 crore.

The company declared a dividend of 30% for the year 2007. During the year 2007, the sales revenue including other income went by 11% to Rs 554 crore. PAT stood at Rs 41.6 crore. According to a company release, the sales revenues and related profit numbers for 2007 were not comparable with the previous accounting period ended December 31, 2006.

Balrampur Chini net at Rs 65.65 crore

Balrampur Chini Mills reported a net profit of Rs 65.65 crore on total income of Rs 311.16 crore for the quarter to March 31, 2008, against a net profit of Rs 19.97 crore on income of Rs 399.12 crore for the same period of the previous year. While net profit was up 229%, operating profit increased by 131%, from Rs 58.12 crore to Rs 134.52 crore in the latest quarter. While interests costs were up 54% to Rs 23 crore, expenditure was down 48% to Rs 176.64 crore.

Lanco Global Systems net jumps

Lanco Global Systems (LGS) achieved a net profit of Rs 33.91 crore against a net profit of Rs 8.5 crore for the same period last year. The company has posted a turnover of Rs 262.43 crore on a consolidated basis for the full year against Rs 78.25 crore last year. Menawhile, LGS has already entered European market and Middle East as planned in the area of business intelligence and could capture significant size of market apart from the US.

NHPC net at Rs 1k cr

State-run hydroelectric power corporation NHPC registered net profit after tax of Rs 1,002.06 crore for the financial year 2007-08, Rs 77.26 crore more than the previous year. NHPC achieved an all time high sales turnover of Rs 2,311.47 crore, compared to Rs 1,962.76 crore during 2006-07, the company’s chairman SK Garg said on Wednesday.

Goldstone Infratech net up 246%

Goldstone Infratech posts a net profit of Rs 10.08 crore in 2007-08, a 246% growth over the previous year? Rs 2.92 crore. The company?s net sales and income from continuing operations for the year was Rs 58.55 crore, an increase of 94.61% over Rs 30.86 crore in the financial year 2006-07. For the fourth quarter, the company recorded a net profit of Rs 3.44 crore, an increase of 134.32% over the Rs 1.47 crore in the fourth quarter of 2006-07. Net sales and income from continuing operations in the fourth quarter of 2007-08 were at Rs 18.86 crore, up by 39.95% over the Rs.13.48 crore in the same period of 2006-07.

Tanla Solutions profit jumps 72.51%

Tanla Solutions reported total revenues of Rs 147.21crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 against Rs 85.33 crore for the corresponding quarter of 2007 on a consolidated basis. This registers a rise of 72.51%. Net profits have jumped 46.87% to Rs 49.99 crore as compared with the same period last year and EPS stood at Rs 32.62. On a sequential basis, total revenues have increased by 18.68%. EBITDA margins stood at 46.83% for the financial year on a consolidated basis. The Y-o-Y growth in total revenues has been 108.18% to Rs 477.17 crore and net profit has increased from Rs 92.79 crore to Rs 163.10 crore.

Gillette profit drops

Gillette India Limited (GIL) on Wednesday reported a 15.2% increase in its total sales at Rs 140 crore for the third quarter ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 121 crore in the corresponding period last year.However, the company?s net profit witnessed a marginal reduction at Rs 28.41 crore as compared Rs 28.81 crore for the corresponding quarter last year due higher tax expenses, according to the company.

Patni?s Q1 revenue up by 13.1%

Patni Computer Systems (Patni) announced its financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2008. The company?s revenues for the quarter is at Rs 706.12 crore up by 13.1% Y-o-Y from Rs 672.41 crore and up 1.3% sequentially from Rs 686.19 crore. The operating income was at Rs 69.34 crore down by 42.9% Y-o-Y from Rs 130.78 crore and down by 36% sequentially from Rs 106.63 crore. The net income for the quarter was at Rs 72.46 crore, down by 35% Y-o-Y from Rs 120.03 crore and down by 28.4% sequentially from Rs 99.72 crore.

Info Edge reports 105% rise

Info Edge announced the company?s total income for FY07-08 at Rs. 239.65 crore an increase of 63% over FY06-07. The EBITDA is at Rs 84.20 crore that grew by 91% over FY06-07. The company achieved a profit before tax of Rs 78.61 crore in FY07-08, a 99% growth over FY06-07. The company achieved a profit after tax of Rs 55.49 crore in FY 07-08, a 105% growth over FY06-07.

Glodyne revenues at Rs 307 crore

Allied Digital posts 92.25% growth

Allied Digital Services , a leading systems integrator and an IT infrastructure management services provider company today announced their year ended results, with total income of Rs 300.30 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008, an increase of 92.25% as compared to Rs 156.20 crore for the year ended March 07.
