State-owned power generation behemoth NTPC recorded an annual growth of 12.55% in power production in August. It generated 22.35 billion units (BU) in the month. The country’s total power generation in July was 97.9 BU. NTPC said that the average plant load factor (PLF) at its generating stations increased by 5.6% from August, 2016.
It’s thermal plants operated at an average PLF of 72.34% in August last year. The PLF increased 5.58% as compared with August last year. Koldam hydro power project generated electricity at its peak capacity during this period, it said. As the company is in the process of raising its renewable energy generation assets, NTPC’s solar stations generated 455 MU.
