Earlier this year, Volkswagen revealed European version of compact SUV, T-Roc in Italy and now the company has revealed car at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Crossover T-Roc will be positioned below the Tiguan and is based on the MQB platform. The global version of the T-Roc is expected to come with three petrol and three diesel engines. The entry level engine will be powered by a 1.0-litre engine that churns out 113hp of power, while the 1.5 TSI unit will produce 148hp of power. The larger 2.0 litre TSI engine will give 197 hp of power. In addition, the T-Roc will be offered with three diesel engine- a 1.6 litre that produces 113hp of power, while the larger 2.0 litre TDI engine will be offered in two states of tunes-148 hp and 190 hp. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG transmission. The SUV comes with All-wheel drive and four wheel drive configuration, depending on the variants and four drive modes -Street, Snow, Offroad and Offroad Individual. Volkswagen T-Roc will get features similar to T-Golf and gets features such as 8-inch touch screen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also, it gets a wireless phone charging and a 330 watt eight channel Bose surround system. Expect Volkswagen to launch the T-Roc in the global markets in 2018. The company has not shared any plans to launch this compact SUV for emerging markets like India.
At the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen also showcased the I.D Crozz electric SUV concept and the company will introduce three models by 2020. In addition, Volkswagen also plans to offer 23 electric vehicles by 2025.
