All pensioners, including family pensioners, are required to submit their Digital Life Certificate (DLC) in order to get pension payments credited in their accounts on a monthly basis. The life certificate is popularly known as Jeevan Praman Patra.

Like central and state government pensioners, employees retired from private sector organisations, who are withdrawing their pension under EPS, are also required to submit the Jeevan Praman Patra.

What is Jeevan Praman Patra?

Jeevan Praman is a biometric-enabled digital service for pensioners retired from services under the central government, state governments as well as the private sector.

Pensioners must provide their life certificate to authorised pension disbursing agencies like banks and post offices in modes available for submission of the document. This certificate is necessary for their pension to be credited to their account. Pensioners must either present themselves in person at the disbursing agency or get the life certificate from their previous authority and have it delivered to the agency.

What is the last date to submit Digital Life Certificate?

Like previous years, this year also the last date to submit the digital life certificate is November 30.

Digital Life Certificate Campaign 3.0

The Centre has launched a nation-wide Digital Life Certificate Campaign 3.0 for digital empowerment of pensioners. The DLC Campaign 3.0 is being held in 800 cities and towns of India. The campaign, which started on November 1, will last till November 30. Till then, all pensioners of central, state governments, EPFO, autonomous bodies can submit their digital life certificates at pension disbursing banks or at IPPB. Super senior pensioners, who are above 80 years of age, can do it from their residence and are provided door step delivery of services.

All pension disbursing banks including State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, CGDA, IPPB, UIDAI will be coming together to implement the DLC Campaign on a nation-wide basis.

What happens if you don’t submit your annual life certificate in time?

If you do not submit your annual life certificate in time, your pension may stop.

DLC Campaign 3.0 aims to provide a simple, transparent, and inclusive way for pensioners to prove their life status, ensuring no pensioner is left behind, the Centre recently said. The campaign’s digital approach will allow pensioners to submit their life certificates either online, via pension disbursing banks, or through IPPB centres, it added.
