Prime Minister Narendra Modi reportedly asked all Bhartiya Janata Party MPs and MLAs to provide the details of their bank accounts to party President Amit Shah from November 8 to December 31. It was reported that the Prime Minister asked that these submissions have to be made by January 1. earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present for the BJP parliamentary party meeting for the winter session.
It has to be noted that the opposition has time and again raised questions about the integrity of the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party. Earlier yesterday, Home Minister Rajnath Singh had to step in in the parliament and said that if the opposition wanted the Prime Minister for a discussion or a debate, then the PM would definitely intervene. He had asked the opposition to stop raising questions about the integrity of the PM and the BJP.
Opposition leaders such as AAP chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had earlier accuse PM Modi of informing his associates about the demonetisation scheme before the official announcement had been made. He had asked as to why the Prime Minister has not taken any actions against the 600 plus Swiss bank account holders in India despite having access to all the information. Reports of BJP leaders depositing crores of money in Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes in West Bengal banks just hours before the demonetisation move was announced also seemed to raise a few questions. Besides, it was also reported that the BJP had bought land worth crores just a week before November 8, which had furthered the doubts about the whole demonetisation scheme.
