RJD chief and former Chief Minister of Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday came along with Nitish Kumar on the demonetiation scheme. The Bihar Chief Minister visited Lalu at his residence after an entire day of war of words between the government and the opposition in the state legislature. According to ToI, Lau supported the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 ban in the presence of Nitish Kumar but was in opposition of its poor implementation.

The meeting between both the leaders became a matter of significance following Lalu Yadav’s wife Rabri Devi’s statement to the media that Sushil Kumar Modi, BJP should take Nitish Kumar away and marry his sister to him. The two leaders were seen together for almost an hour, according to ToI. Although, the ost surprising part was that Lalu met Nitish Kumar when a scheduled meeting of the RJD legislators was already in progress.

RJD MLA Alam told ToI that both Lalu and Nitish favoured demonetisation. He said that Lalu Yadav was in favour of the note ban was against its poor implementation. Alam further clarified that the former CM had invited Nitish Kumar to meet RJD legislators and discuss various issues. Alam said that Nitish heard all their queries and assured them that there was no rift between the RJD, JD(U) and Congress.  Alam informed the ToI that Nitish later called all the legislators for a meeting at a later time, although the matters to be discussed weren’t revealed. State Finance Minister Abdul Bari Siddiqui also confirmed that there was no rift between the grand alliance of the RJD, JD(U) and the Congress. Lalu had earlier completely opposed the demonetisation policy along with the rest of the opposition. Ever since PM Modi announced the demonetisation scheme on November 8, the move has been a part of some serious politics between the government and the opposition.
