The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty fell on Thursday following concerns the government may amend tax treaties with countries including Singapore after it agreed to tax capital gains on foreign investments from Mauritius. Sensex plunged 175.51 points to close at 25,597.02, while NSE Nifty slipped 38.95 points to settle at 7,848.85.

Kotak Mahindra Bank: Shares of the bank ended 1.34 per cent up at Rs 731.15 after it reported 15.63 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs 1,055.23 crore for the quarter under review against Rs 912.60 crore in the same quarter last year.
Indian Bank: Stocks of Indian Bank ended 4 per cent down at Rs 90.05 after it reported a 59 per cent decline in net profit to Rs 84.49 crore for the March quarter on higher provisioning for bad loans and contingencies.
SRF: Stocks of the textiles company closed 1.68 per cent up at Rs 1436.20 after it reported a 82 per cent increase in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended March 31.
Asian Paints: Shares of the companies closed 0.97 per cent up at Rs 907.40 after it reported a 19.87 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 408.75 crore for the March quarter.
South Indian Bank: Stocks of the bank ended 0.28 per cent up at Rs 18.00 after it reported over four fold jump in its net profit at Rs 72.97 crore for the quarter ended March 2016 as compared to Rs 16.32 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.
Zee Entertainment: Shares of the company closed 7.13 per cent up at Rs 447.50 after on Tuesday it posted a 13 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs 260.61 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2016. The company had registered a consolidated net profit of Rs 230.77 crore in the January-March quarter a year ago.
Sterlite Technologies: Shares closed 0.58 per cent up at Rs 87.45 after the company informed bourses that it has won the Jaipur Smart City Phase – II Project. Jaipur, the Pink City, was selected under the Smart City Mission of Ministry of Urban Development launched in 2015. This is Sterlite’s second smart city project win.
