Delhi Metro, ever since its launch, has made sure to give as much as possible back to the community through its spectacularly utilitarian and punctual services for travellers. Also, being a landmark in the national capital, Delhi Metro has made continuous efforts to turn its stations into landmarks too. To continue with the same ideology, Delhi Metro will ensure that the Moti Bagh station on the new corridor, from Majlis Park-Shiv Vihar will have some of the most attractive artwork in the city. The is in line with the Delhi Metro’s efforts to utilise its premises for the promotion of art and culture.
Even now, some of the abstract artworks can be seen on the facade of the Metro station which is facing the Ring Road. As per Delhi Metro, the artwork conveys the message of greenery and preservation of the environment. Delhi Metro has roped in a specialised team of artists to make its stations look absolutely mesmerising.
Delhi Metro further envisions that the piers of the Majlis Park Metro station on the Ring Road will be decorated with traditional Indian Jali work. Delhi Metro will install Jali work in such a fashion that it will be backlit. That means people using the road beneath the metro station will have night glow vinyl for better aesthetic look and visibility during the night. With these installations on the piers, Delhi Metro seeks to promote ethnic Indian architecture. The artworks are currently being installed at the station and the work is expected to be completed within a week’s time.
Meanwhile, Delhi Metro recently inaugurated the Botanical Garden – Kalkaji Mandir section. On this metro line as well, artwork which depicted Indian culture and heritage are on display. In the past as well, Delhi Metro has tied up with multiple government organisations such as National Book Trust, Delhi Tourism, Sahitya Akademy, India Habitat Centre to make its stations look world class. Even multiple schools have been authorised to make the best use the Metro premises in such a way it promotes Indian Art, Culture, Literature, Craft, Tourism.

Multiple stations like INA Metro station on the Yellow line houses an Art & Craft Gallery or the Jorbagh metro station which has a Painting/Photo Exhibition, or the Vishwavidyalaya metro station which has a bookshop run by National Book Trust, offer commuters an altogether different experience while traveling by Metro.
