Incumbent Chief Minister Zoramthanga had asserted that his MNF party will return to power and will bag 25-35 seats in Mizoram Elections 2023, adding that the Congress, which was ousted by the MNF in 2018, could draw a blank this election. The MNF party is looking to secure a straight term in the Mizoram polls. The party has ruled the state for three terms since Mizoram became a state in 1987, while the Congress has had four terms. In the 2018 Mizoram Assembly Elections, the MNF had secured 26 seats, the Congress managed five seats, the BJP won one seat, while the ZPM clinched eight seats.
