A total of five states go to polls in what is being seen as a litmus test for the BJP as well as the Opposition ahead of the crucial general elections in 2019. The five states – Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram will go for polls in November. The result of the assembly seats across five states will be declared on December 11, 2018. In Madhya Pradesh, the election will take place in a single phase on November 28, 2018 while in Chattisgarh, polling will be held in two phases on November 12 and November 20. In Rajasthan and Telangana, the election will take place in a single phase on December 7, 2018. In Mizoram, the election will take place in a single phase on November 28, 2018. Necessary security arrangements have been put in place to avoid any untoward incidents.
