Indian-arm of Swedish automaker Volvo cars India has silently introduced an updated version of its Volvo XC90 SUV and all three trims of the D5 diesel model now gets more equipment and additional safety kits. The Momentum variant of Volvo XC90 will now cost Rs 76.47 lakh, the R-Design price has been revised to 83.90 lakh and the top-spec Inscription is priced at Rs 86.96 lakh (Ex-Showroom prices). Dealers in Delhi and Chennai have confirmed this development.
Volvo Cars have now added new features like heated front seats, paddle shifters and cruise control on the base variant of Volvo XC90 along with a self-park assist. The top-variants now also get a blind-spot warning with traffic alerts and rear collision mitigation support. 2018 Volvo XC90 now also gets a heated steering.
Volvo XC90 gets no mechanical updates and continues to be powered by a 2.0L diesel engine shedding a power of 235 hp and 480 Nm of torque mated to an 8-speed transmission. Volvo XC90 D5 diesel SUV is locally assembled at the company's plant in Bengaluru. The SUV is also the first in India to be available with a petrol-hybrid in the form of Volvo XC90 T8 Excellence that is imported in India. However, there is no confirmation of these updates being carry forwarded on this variant.
