MG Motor India has officially begun teasing its upcoming flagship SUV, the MG Majestor. The first set of images and details have been released ahead of its launch on February 12, 2026. Positioned as a premium 7-seater offering, the Majestor will sit above the Hector Plus and Gloster in MG’s India lineup, targeting family buyers who seek a blend of luxury, space, and advanced features in the fiercely competitive three-row SUV segment.
The teaser images shared by MG Motors reveal a bold, upright design language with a large chrome grille, sleek LED headlamps connected by a full-width light bar, prominent shoulder lines, and a floating roof effect. At the rear, connected LED taillights and a wide stance give it a commanding road presence. The design is largely unchanged from the concept vehicle showcased at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2025 event.Â
MG Majestor expected powertrain and platform
The Majestor is expected to be built on an evolved version of the same platform that underpins the Gloster (derived from the Maxus D90/ LDV D90). It is likely to share the 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing around 215 hp and 480–500 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and optional all-wheel drive (AWD). A petrol variant has not been ruled out, though diesel remains the focus for this segment in India.
MG is also expected to introduce a mild-hybrid or strong-hybrid option to improve fuel efficiency and compete with rivals offering electrified powertrains.
MG Majestor interior and features
Early teasers and industry sources indicate the Majestor will feature a significantly upgraded cabin with:
– Dual 10.25-inch screens (instrument cluster + infotainment)
– Panoramic sunroof
– Ventilated front seats + captain seats in the second row (optional)
– 360-degree camera, ADAS Level-2 suite (adaptive cruise, lane-keep assist, auto emergency braking)
– Wireless charging, ambient lighting, and premium leather upholstery
– 8-speaker Infinity audio system
– Powered tailgate and multiple USB Type-C ports
The 7-seater layout will offer flexible seating configurations, with the third row likely suitable for adults on short journeys. The configuration will position it as a direct rival to the Toyota Innova Crysta, Mahindra XUV7XO (7-seater), Tata Safari, and upcoming Hyundai Alcazar facelift.
MG Majestor expected price in India
While official prices will be revealed on February 12, industry estimates place the Majestor in the Rs 25–35 lakh ex-showroom range, making it on par with what the Gloster costs (currently starting around Rs 38 lakh) but competitively priced against top-spec Innova Crysta and XUV7XO variants.
The MG Majestor will be unveiled in a grand event on February 12, 2026, with bookings likely opening the same day or shortly after. Deliveries are expected to begin in March–April 2026, depending on variant availability and production ramp-up at MG’s Halol plant in Gujarat.
