jayshri gill of iit kharagpur sells paintings This story about an IITian tells an altogether different side.

We keep reading feel-good stories about IITian who are doing very well in their professional and personal lives, but this story about an IITian tells an altogether different side. This Indian woman from Kolkata claims that she is from IIT Kharagpur. She has no job. She has lost her passport. She stays in a motel on a daily basis. And, she sells handmade paintings on the streets of Washington in the US to make ends meet. Her name is Jayshri Gill. She hails from New Alipore in Kolkata and claims to be a 1991 alumnus of IIT Kharagpur. It was truly shocking when some Indians working in the US met Jayshri Gill on the streets of Bellevue, Washington on 148th Avenue. The people who had met her later posted pictures and a video of Jayshri on Facebook on January 17, appealing for help. Reacting to the matter, her family, staying in Kolkata says that they are unaware of Jayshri’s condition. Moreover, the family says they will approach the Modi government to seek help, according to a report in Indian Express.

Reportedly, Jayshri has worked with prestigious IT giants like TCS, Cognizant. She stayed in the US in various top cities including California and San Francisco. According to a video, which has gone viral on Facebook, Jayshri claims to be a software engineer. She has given her US number for anyone who has any job offer.

According to one Prabhat Page, a Washington-based techie working in the field of hi-tech sales, “We met her on the streets, while she was selling paintings. I asked her about what she was doing and was shocked.”

As per the IE report, Jayshri has been staying in the US for around 18 years. She had married in Washington only and got separated in the year 2006. Reportedly, her health condition has also deteriorated a lot.

Women in distress difficulties R products of cruel men s. Software industry had landed many a woman2death. Still many number of woman2divorce. Similarly many Indian woman were cheated2being cheated by Indian SW engineers who got jobs in US. This harassment violence against woman is particularly severest by those in software aindustry. Yes it may B prevalent in other industry also like the IIT woman in this article. But occurrence in software field among US job holders is way too high. It will B good if all Indian SW Industry empathizes with such woman B it in India/US provides employment on priority basis. These cruel S.W employees in USA R divorcing their wife/s particularly those who left job 4 children upbringing at age of 40 by which time women subjects would have been without experience for 10 years R more, must have been out of tune with latest technologies. ATA/NATA etc. shall work in this pursuit.Emphasize that dis kind of SW emps in US R Monsters in disguise

The truth is that she likes to stay in US no matter what. Otherwise she could have come back with the help of indian embassy. She chose to be a beggar in US though she could have had a better life in india.

This is what is expected , any Indian anywhere in the world has a shelter back in India , no matter what condition she and he is going through . We did show this to her and we are great ful for those who got her noticed , simple act of humanity towards your fellow brother and sisters is the basic need to keep this country warm and healthy . Yes if we demand such people can be brought back and it’s our strength is the population, we can contribute to help her or anyone else away from the nation for their better future . Good work boys we are proud of you . I wish down the line some day we shall be having a platform to address such issues.
