CRCS Sahara Refund Portal (mocrefund.crcs.gov.in) FAQs, Application Process Updates (July 20): Promising much-awaited relief to crores of depositors who have their money stuck in Sahara Group, Union Minister of Home and Cooperation, Amit Shah on Tuesday (July 18) announced the launch of ‘CRCS Sahara Refund Portal’. The new online platform will help aggrieved depositors get their money back, starting with Rs 10,000 per depositor in the initial phase.
Online Application Form: The form to apply for a claim from Sahara Group is available on the Sahara Refund Portal (mocrefund.crcs.gov.in).
Application Process: Deposits will have to register themselves on the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal with necessary details (see below for terms and conditions)
“This Portal has been developed for submission of legitimate claims by the genuine depositors of four Cooperative Societies namely; Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Ltd., Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Ltd., Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Ltd. and Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd,” the Ministry of Cooperation said.

In case the depositor has multiple deposit accounts, the depositor needs to fill out a single Claim Application Form for all of them. However, you must scan and upload the original certificate of deposit (CD) or passbook individually for each account.

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah has said that through this portal, the first payment up to Rs.10,000 will be made to one crore investors who had deposited Rs. 10,000 or more. He said that complete data of all four societies is available online for application on this portal.
Shah further said that all necessary provisions have been made in this process so that there is no scope for any kind of manipulation or injustice to any genuine investor.
At the launch of Sahara Refund Portal on July 18, Union Minister Amit Shah said this initiative is important because the concerns of people whose hard-earned money is stuck in these 4 cooperative societies were not paid attention. “In such cases, generally multi-agency seizure often happens but no agency thinks about the investor. This leads to feeling of great insecurity and mistrust towards cooperative societies.”
Shah further said crores of people of the country do not have capital but they want to contribute in the development of the country and there is no other way than cooperative movement. In this direction, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a decision to form a separate Ministry of Cooperation. He said that co-operative is the only movement in which big works can be done by combining small capital to create big capital.
The refund of the claimed amount will be directly credited to Depositor’s Aadhaar-seeded bank account only after 45 days from the date of successful claim submission.

According to the Ministry, the documents uploaded should be on grayscale or color scale, vertically aligned. The size of the document should be restricted to 200KB for Deposit Certificate/Passbook; 2 MB for Completed pre-filled and executed Claim Application Form and 50 KB for PAN Card.

The Ministry of Cooperation says the Depositor has to provide details of all the deposits across all Sahara societies where the Depositor has outstanding dues receivable by adding all the claim details, one by one, in a single claim form.
The Depositor has to attach following documents:
a. Deposit certificate/ Passbook
b. Claim Request Form
c. PAN Card (if claim amount is Rs. 50,000/- and above)
According to Ministry of Cooperation, the Depositor has to provide details of PAN card mandatorily, if claim amount is Rs. 50,000/- and above, across all Sahara Societies. PAN is not mandatory for claim amounts below Rs 50,000.

Step 1: Visit the Home Page of CRCS Sahara Refund Portal (https://mocrefund.crcs.gov.in) and click on’ Depositor Login’
Step 2: Fill in details like last 4 digits of your Aadhaar Card, and mobile number linked with Aadhaar, on the Depositor Login Page accurately.
Step 3: Click on ‘Get OTP’ and enter the OTP received. Click ‘Verify OTP’ to login.

Step 1: Visit the Home Page of CRCS Sahara Refund Portal (https://mocrefund.crcs.gov.in) and click on ‘Depositor Registration.’
Step 2: You will have to fill in the details like last 4 digits of your Aadhaar Card, and mobile number linked with Aadhaar, on the Registration Page accurately. Then click on ‘Get OTP’ and enter the OTP received on your mobile number.
Step 3: After entering OTP, click on ‘Verify OTP’ to complete the mandatory registration process.
