Mizoram Election 2023 Date: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday announced the schedule for the assembly election in Mizoram. As per the poll schedule announced by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, the state will go to polls on November 7 while the results will be declared on December 3.

The 40-strong Mizoram Legislative Assembly is currently under the rule of Chief Minister Zoramthanga-led Mizo National Front party.

Date of issue of gazette notification: October 13, 2023

Last date for filing nomination: October 20, 2023

Date of scrutiny of nominations: October 21

Last date of withdrawal of candidatures: October 23

Date of poll: November 7

Date of counting: December 3

Date before Election shall be completed: December 5, 2023

Mizoram comprises 40 constituencies, with 27 held by the MNF party, 6 by the primary opposition Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), 5 by the Congress, and 1 by the BJP, as per the 2018 election results. The majority mark required to form a government in the state is 21.

The term of the 8th Mizoram Legislative Assembly expires in December this year.
