Haryana Election 2024 Polling Today: With the election campaign concluding Thursday evening, Haryana is set to vote in a single phase on Saturday, October 5. Voters across the state will cast ballots in 90 constituencies between 7 am and 6 pm.

According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), exit poll results will only be released after 6.30 pm, ensuring voters can exercise their franchise without external influence.

The political landscape in Haryana is dominated by a tight contest between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress. The BJP, currently in power, is vying for a third consecutive term, while the Congress seeks to capitalise on anti-incumbency sentiment. Other significant players in the fray include the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), adding further complexity to the electoral battle.

This time, 1,031 candidates are in the race for the assembly seats, marking a decrease from the 1,169 candidates in the 2019 elections and 1,351 in 2014.

Key constituencies to watch out for in the elections include Ladwa, Julana, Garhi Sampla-Kiloi, Uchana, Gurgaon, Ellenabad, and Rewari, where prominent leaders from various parties are contesting. Chief Minister Nayab Saini will contest from Ladwa, Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi, INLD’s Abhay Singh Chautala from Ellenabad, and JJP’s Dushyant Chautala from Uchana Kalan. Other notable candidates include BJP’s Anil Vij from Ambala Cantt and OP Dhankar from Badli, AAP’s Anurag Dhanda from Kalayat, and Congress’s Vinesh Phogat from Julana.

The results of the election will be declared on October 8, bringing an end to a spirited campaign season.
