Liebherr Appliances India has started producing its fully integrated refrigerator range at its manufacturing facility in Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. This is the first time the Germany-based Liebherr Group is manufacturing fully integrated (FI) refrigerators outside Europe.
The product range includes fridges, freezers and combination units designed for built-in modular kitchens. The models have been adapted for India’s climatic conditions to maintain performance and energy efficiency.
The company marked the launch with an event at its Mumbai Experience Centre in Powai, attended by Liebherr’s global and India leadership, along with key dealers. The event included product showcases and demonstrations.
“We are proud to launch the Fully Integrated (Built-in) product category in India— which is one of the world’s most dynamic and rapidly growing markets. At Liebherr Appliances, our global vision is deeply rooted in precision engineering, timeless design, and purposeful innovation. India’s growing appetite for premium and high-performance appliances aligns perfectly with our brand values,” said Stéfanie Wohlfarth, vice president of the administrative board, Liebherr Appliances.
“This launch marks a significant step in bringing the best of Liebherr’s engineering and design legacy to India, a market that continues to grow in both scale and sophistication,” said Steffen Nagel, managing director of sales and marketing, appliance division.
“We are launching Liebherr Appliances’ Fully Integrated range in India with the widest portfolio available in the market… ensuring immediate access for consumers without the wait for imports,” said Kapil Agarwal, managing director of sales, Liebherr Appliances India.
The company’s move comes amid rising demand for built-in appliances, supported by growth in luxury housing and modular kitchen installations. The investment is part of Liebherr’s broader strategy to expand in India’s premium home appliance segment.
