German automaker Volkswagen will soon be adding the new next-gen Touareg SUV to its SUV line-up and most recent pics from Motor1.com suggest that the production ready 2018 Volkswagen Touareg SUV has been spotted testing and is expected to make its global debut at the 2018 Auto China Show in Beijing scheduled in April 2018. The camouflaged version of the SUV has been spotted a number of times but now the SUV has been spotted in flesh. The new generation Touareg looks more aggressive and apparently was spotted on its day out for a commercial shoot.
2018 Volkswagen Touareg SUV is based on the MLB platform that also underpins the Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne and the SUV does resemble both the SUVs. The face of the SUV gets bold chrome grille, fresh headlamp cluster with DRLs and large air-intakes with black underbody cladding for the bumper. The rear of the SUV also gets nice and aggressive styling wrapped with LED taillights with Touareg badging in the centre something similar that we have seen on the Porsche Cayenne. Expect the interiors of the Volkswagen Touareg SUV to be wrapped in luxury and be both spacious and filled with advanced tech features.
New Volkswagen Touareg SUV is expected to be powered by 2L-petrol and diesel engines paired with the 8-speed DSG transmission with all-wheel drive. To improve the reputation of the company, Volkswagen might also bring in the hybrid variant on the Touareg. Yes, the Touareg SUV was a part of Volkswagen India's product line-up but this new generation SUV might not make it to India unless the company decides to be very aggressive on the Indian market.
