He said that his party strongly stands against this move and demands a roll back of the decision.
The price surge in question will start this Friday, according to which train fares of Shatabdi, Duranto and Rajdhani have been hiked by a whooping 50%. This move has been taken by the IRCTC keeping in view the festive season and the rise in number of travellers during this phase. So not only the journey time but its the price as well that will irk train passengers in comparison to flight voyages.
The price hike comes at a time when low cost airlines are shelving their fares to attract travellers, hence the move has attracted more backlash.
