Amid raging row over H-1B visas in the US, with the new $100,000 fee for new applicants now into effect, ex-Republican lawmaker Majorie Taylor Greene (MTG) has flagged a “serious H-1B fraud” in Texas.
The H-1B visa allows US firms to hire foreign workers in specialised fields such as technology, engineering, healthcare and finance. It has acted as a pathway for several Indians and other countries’ skilled professionals to gain entry into the country.
What is the’ H-1B’ fraud MTG flagged?
Taking to X, Greene, who exited US Congress earlier this month, shared a TikTok video of an influencer who claimed that as many as 700,000 H-1B applicants were brought into Texas in 2025.
North Texas seems to have a serious H1B Visa fraud scam going. One immigration attorney brought in over 700K H1Bs in 2025 alone.

If Republicans were serious about stopping it, they would pass my bill HR 6937 to eliminate the H1B Visa program.

The influencer claimed that these applicants had been approved by an immigration attorney identified as Chand Parvathaneni and they run fraudulent businesses like tech firms out of residential single-family income households in cities like Fresco and Irving, while also receiving funding from the government.
The influencer also claimed that “North Texas has been overrun and overtaken by Muslims and Indians”.
Commenting on the video, Greene also wrote – “If Republicans were serious about stopping it, they would pass my bill HR 6937 to eliminate the H1B Visa program.”
Which bill is Greene talking about?
Prior to stepping down, Greene had introduced an anti-H-1B bill ‘HR 6937’ in the US Congress. Its stated goal is to amend the Immigration and Nationality Act so that the H-1B program no longer exists.
As per official Congressional records, the bill has been sent to three House committees, including the Judiciary Committee, the Energy and Commerce Committee, and the Ways and Means Committee. These referrals mark the very first step in the lawmaking process. The bill has officially been named as: “To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to eliminate the H-1B program, and for other purposes”.
What is the latest status of the HR 6937 bill?
As of now, no hearings have been scheduled, and no votes have taken place. The bill has only been introduced and formally referred, according to Congress.gov
