Over 100 Palestinians were killed and dozens more wounded in an Israeli airstrike on a Gaza school that was sheltering displaced people, according to the official Palestinian news agency on Saturday. The strike occurred during Fajr (dawn) prayers, leading to a rapid increase in casualties, the Hamas-run Gaza government media office reported.
The Israeli army stated that the airstrike targeted a Hamas command and control center embedded within the Al-Taba’een school in Daraj Tuffah, which is located near a mosque and serves as a shelter for Gaza City residents.
The Israeli Air Force (IAF) emphasized that they took numerous precautions to minimize civilian harm, including the use of precise munitions, aerial surveillance, and intelligence gathering before executing the strike.
