The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, the premier global cricket tournament, is being hosted in the United States for the first time. The tournament is held every two years, with the previous tournament taking place in 2022. This ninth edition of the ICC T20 World Cup features 20 international teams competing in a total of 55 matches.
The last tournament was won by England competing against Pakistan in the final at Melbourne. At present, there are two teams who have won the title twice, England and West Indies. Notedly, the very first tournament was won by India in 2007 under the leadership of MS Dhoni in South Africa.

Australia, the most successful team in men’s ODI World Cup history with five titles, secured their first T20 World Cup in 2021 by defeating New Zealand by eight wickets in the final. Notably, New Zealand remains the only finalist in men’s T20 World Cup history to have never won the trophy.
