The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium came alive this Wednesday, April 15, as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) took on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 23 of IPL 2026. With the competition getting tougher both teams really need a win to stay in the top half of the points table.
The Bengaluru side made one change to their playing 11, bringing in Josh Hazlewood in place of Jacob Duffy. Virat Kohli played as impact player. No chnages were made in Lucknow’s playing 11.
RCB are coming into this match after a big win against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium. They batted first and scored a huge 240/4 thanks to a strong 78 from Phil Salt and a fast 53 from Rajat Patidar.
Mumbai Indians tried their best to chase the target, but RCB’s bowlers stayed calm and helped the team win by 18 runs. This victory showed that the defending champions are getting back to their best form.
On the other hand, LSG had a disappointing game at their home ground in Lucknow. Playing against Gujarat Titans their batting never really got going and they could only score 164/8 in 20 overs.
Even though their bowlers tried hard, Gujarat Titans chased the target comfortably with seven wickets left. Now, LSG will aim to fix their middle-order problems as they head to Bengaluru which is known to be a great pitch for batting.
