India finished off their brilliant run at the Doha International boxing tournament, winning four gold, one silver and two bronze medals in the event.
Commonwealth Games silver medalist L Devendro Singh, Shiva Thapa, Manish Kaushik and Manoj Kumar won the gold medals. Gaurav Bidhuri won the silver medal, while Mandeep Jangra and Vikas Krishan bagged bronze medals.
Devendro Singh beat Philippines Aldren Moreno 3-0, while former Asian champion Shiva Thapa beat Egypt’s HYM Abdelaal 2-1.
Gaurav Bidhuri lost to Montassar Bouali 2-1. Manish on the other hand beat Moroccan Rabi Hamza 3-0, while Manoj got better of Filipino Magliquian Nicole by a similar margin.
The Indian boxers have performed exceptionally well in the tournament, which was a test event ahead of the World Championships scheduled in October.
The tournament, which features a total of 12 countries, is also an Olympic qualifying event.
