Maharashtra Chief Minister Meri Ladli Behna Yojana turned out to be a game changer for the Mahayuti in the state assembly polls. In the recently concluded Maharashtra elections, the alliance of Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), BJP and Ajit Pawar’s NCP, ‘Mahayuti’ got a huge majority.

The Ladli Behna Yojana is being credited as the main factor behind Mahayuti’s historic victory. In response to this scheme by the ruling Mahayuti, the opposition Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) had announced the Mahalaxmi Scheme for women, promising Rs 3,000 per month. However, women beneficiaries placed their trust in the Mahayuti instead. Meanwhile, some significant good news has emerged regarding the Ladli Behna Yojana.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde made a big announcement

The Mahayuti had said in its election promise that if they come to power again, the amount of Ladli Behna Yojana will be increased from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,100. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced that as per the promise of the manifesto of Mahayuti, the Ladli sisters of the state will soon be given Rs 2,100 instead of Rs 1,500.

According to media reports, an important decision to increase the amount of Ladli Behna Yojana from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,100 can be taken during the winter session to be held in Nagpur after the formation of the government in Maharashtra.

When will the next installment under Ladli Behna Yojana be received?

The Shinde government had made an advance payment of the 5th instalment of the Ladli Behna Yojana even before the code of conduct came into force. Now the beneficiary women are waiting for the 6th instalment of the scheme.

Voting was held for all 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra in a single phase on November 20, and the results were declared on November 23. The election process has been completed on November 25. The 6th instalment of the Ladli Behna Yojana is likely to be released after the formation of the new government.

Who can avail the benefits of the Ladli Behna Yojana?

Let us tell you that women of Maharashtra whose family’s annual income is less than Rs 2.5 lakh are being given financial assistance of Rs 1,500 every month from July 1, 2024 under the Ladli Behna Yojana. Now a decision to increase this amount to Rs 2,100 can be taken after the formation of the new government.
