ICICI Bank has announced a change in the airport lounge access rules for some of its debit cards, effective October 1, 2024.
Under the new guidelines, cardholders can enjoy two complimentary airport lounge visits per quarter by meeting a spending requirement of Rs 10,000 in the preceding calendar quarter.
For instance, to qualify for complimentary lounge access in the October-November-December 2024 quarter, you need to spend at least Rs 10,000 during July-August-September 2024. This updated policy applies specifically to select debit cards, with no changes to the spending criteria for other ICICI Bank debit cards.
Which transactions will be counted for Rs 10,000 spending limit?
Notably, e-commerce and POS transactions will count towards the Rs 10,000 spending limit, while ATM transactions and cash withdrawals will not be included.
“Starting October 01, 2024, you can enjoy Two complimentary airport lounge access by spending Rs 10,000 in the preceding calendar quarter. Spends made in the preceding calendar quarter will unlock access for the subsequent calendar quarter. To be eligible for complimentary lounge access in Oct- Nov- Dec, 2024 quarter, you need to spend a minimum of Rs 10,000 in the Jul-Aug-Sept, 2024 quarter and similarly for following quarters,” according to the ICICI Bank website.

How to access complimentary airport lounges in India?
To enjoy complimentary airport lounges with your ICICI Bank debit card, follow these simple steps:
Present Your Card: Show your valid, unexpired ICICI Bank debit card at the lounge entrance.
Show Your Ticket: Provide a valid air ticket or boarding pass for travel on the same or next day.
Authorization Charge: A small authorization fee of Rs 2 will be charged on your card for each lounge visit.
Guest Charges: Note that while you get free access, any guests accompanying you might have to pay.
