Domestic equity markets are closed on Monday on account of Ganesh Chaturthi. On Friday, Sensex gained 108.63 points to end at 28,532.11, while NSE Nifty ended 35 points up at 8,809.65, lead by rally in auto stocks which remained upbeat on August sales data amid positive global cues. The debt and foreign exchange markets will remain closed on Monday for the festivities.Indian rupee on Friday ended higher by 13 paise at 66.82 on heavy dollar selling.
Markets this week would eye monthly data announcement of the country’s services sector, global trends and quarterly numbers of bluechips ONGC, Gail and Coal India.
Investors will also look forward to the new RBI Governor Urijit Patel, who will join office on September 6.
