At Apple Inc Event, CEO Tim Cook has unveiled iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus smartphones, which pack the latest 3D Touch technology.
The iPhone 6s smartphone will be available in the UK for a suggested retail price of £539 ($827) for the 16GB model, £619 ($950) for the 64GB model and £699 ($1,073) for the 128GB model. iPhone 6s Plus will be priced at £619 ($950) for the 16GB model, £699 ($1,073) for the 64GB model and £789 ($1,211) for the 128GB model, according to The Telegraph.
Apple announced Wednesday that it will sell two new iPhone models, dubbed the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, starting Sept 25. They’re roughly the same size and will cost the same as the record-selling 6 and 6 Plus models introduced last year, which will now sell for $100 less.
Most smartphone users are accustomed to “multi-touch” – the ability for phones to recognize touches from multiple fingers, enabling such capabilities as pinching to zoom.
Now comes 3D Touch. Here is how to use it:
1. Pressing down hard on the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will launch additional capabilities.
2. You can get quick access to tasks such as taking a selfie or getting directions home.
3. From a message, 3D Touch will give you a preview of a Web link without launching the browser.
4. Press for a few seconds on a document icon, and a preview pops out.
5. Press on an address in an email, and a map opens up
Apple announced the new feature at an event in San Francisco on Wednesday.
Apple introduced this concept with some Mac laptops in March. It’s called Force Touch on other devices. On some video apps, the pressure determines how quickly you forward or rewind.
Apple Watch also has Force Touch. Press on the Workout app, for instance, to pause or end a run.
