Realme U1, the first smartphone to be powered by the MediaTek Helio P70 processor, has been launched at an event in New Delhi. The Realme U1 is the latest addition to the increasingly popular Realme series that has gathered positive response from the customers. Realme started out earlier this year with the first smartphone, Realme 1 under the Oppo branding, however, it spun off to ditch the branding and continue with just Realme. The Realme U1 is the company’s fifth smartphone that is expected to take on the mid-range smartphone such as the newly-launched Redmi Note 6 Pro.

Realme U1 Price, Specifications
The Realme U1 India price will be revealed at the launch event, however, it is speculated to cost somewhere between Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000. The smartphone is also likely to have multiple RAM/ storage variants. It’s already out that the Realme U1 will be exclusively available to buy via Amazon.in. The availability details will be announced alongside price.
For the specifications, the Realme U1 has been confirmed to come with a MediaTek Helio P70 – this is the first phone to be powered by MediaTek’s latest processor. The MediaTek Helio processor is based on 12-nanometre FinFET architecture featuring eight cores clocked up to 2.1GHz. The smartphone will come with a notch display, as seen on the teasers, however, the display size is not known yet.
The smartphone is also expected to come with a dual camera setup on the rear, but exact specifications will be announced at the event. Other details on the smartphone are scarce as well until the launch event kicks off.

The Realme U1 comes with a 6.3-inch full-HD+ display with a teardrop notch on the top. There is a 13-layer laminated technology covering the rear surface of the device. It gives Realme U1 a distinct look.
On the rear, the Realme U1 has dual sensors both having 13-megapixel Dual Pixel sensors. There is the HDR mode, as well as different shooting modes such as Studio lighting etc. There is a dual-tone LED flash available on the Realme U1.
There is AI photography available on the front camera with features to preview the Bokeh effect and Beauty effect on the photographs. There is an Image Upgrading Plan that the company has launched for the first time. It’s called the AI Beauty+, which can recognise 296 beauty points to distinguish between different features. There is a Smart Groupfie mode for wide-angle shots.

Levi is back on stage to talk about the system optimisations that the Realme U1 offers. With the Mali-G72 MP3 GPU clocked at up to 900MHz, the Realme U1 offers a better 60fps gameplay. There is a dedicated gaming mode called Realme Game Space that optimises the system configurations to deliver a smooth gaming performance. There are some other system-level optimisations that have been created to suit different usages such as listening to music, etc.
The MediaTek Helio P70 processor comes with a ‘powerful’ Mali-G72 MP3 GPU that the company claims gives a better gaming experience than the competitor. According to the data showed by Lee, the Helio P70 can operate at a maximum temperature of 31.2-degree Celsius while the competitor takes the temperature up to 35.7-degree Celsius.
