HTC on Tuesday launched the U11+ premium-segment smartphone in India. The HTC U11+ was originally launched in November last year alongside the HTC U11 Life, featuring HTC’s Edge Sense ‘squeezable’ edge functionality as its USP. The smartphone sports a bezel-reduced 18:9 display and HTC BoomSound feature for a better audio experience. The launch of HTC U11+ marks the entry of the second model into the U11 smartphone line in India.
HTC U11+ India Price and Availability
The HTC U11+ India price has been set at a MOP of Rs 56,990 and the smartphone will be available via Flipkart starting Wednesday, February 7. It comes in two colour variants – Amazing Silver and Ceramic Black, where the former will be available from Wednesday while the latter will be “soon available”, says the company.
HTC U11+ Features and Specifications
The HTC U11+ is a dual SIM (hybrid slots) smartphone that comes with support for 4G VoLTE connectivity. The smartphone sports a liquid surface design in shiny gradients. It is powered by an octa-core 2.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with two RAM configurations – 4GB and 6GB along with two internal storage variants – 64GB and 128GB. The internal storage can be further expanded via microSD card (up to 2TB). The HTC U11+ comes with a 6-inch Quad-HD+ (1440×2880 pixels) Super LCD 6 display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, 537ppi resolution, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with HTC’s skin on top.
For the cameras, the HTC U11+ sports a 12-megapixel rear camera with HTC’s UltraPixel 3 technology, a f/1.7 aperture, and OIS. The rear camera comes with a Dual LED flash support, Slow motion video support, 4K recording, and 3D Audio support. There is an 8-megapixel front camera on the smartphone with HDR Boost support. The HTC U11+ features HTC BoomSound, HTC USonic with active noise cancellation, IP68 water and dust resistance, and HTC Companion service. The HTC Edge Sense functionality is also present on the U11+ that allows the user to press the edges of the smartphone to trigger certain predefined actions. The amount of pressure can also be adjusted to further customise the actions and their behaviour. The user can launch the Google Assistant, snap photos, and launch other third-party apps with Edge Sense.
The connectivity options in the HTC U11+ include Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2.4GHz/ 5GHz with MU-MIMO), Bluetooth v5, GPS, USB 3.1 Type-C port, NFC, and Micro-USB among others. The handset packs a Quick Charge 3.0 supported 3930mAh battery under the hood that is rated to deliver a talk time of up to 25 hours.
