SBI Clerk Prelims Exam Analysis 2024: The State Bank of India has announced 8,773 openings for the junior associate position in the clerical cadre. The preliminary examination for the SBI Clerk Recruitment commenced today, January 5, with additional exams scheduled for January 6, 11, and 12. Admit cards for the preliminary examination were made available on SBI’s official website on December 26, 2023.
The Preliminary Exam is being conducted online and will consist of Objective Tests carrying 100 marks. The duration of the test will be one hour, comprising three sections: English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability, each with a separate time limit. Negative marking will be applicable for incorrect answers in the Objective Tests, deducting 1/4th of the marks assigned to each question for every wrong answer.
Guidelines for candidates
- The candidates appearing for the examination can go through the following guidelines on the exam day:
- Adhere to the reporting time mentioned on the call letter for the examination center. Candidates arriving late will not be permitted to take the test
- Ensure that your recent passport-size photograph, matching the one uploaded in the online application form, is affixed in the designated space on the call letter. Additionally, carry two extra photographs, original photo identity proof and a photocopy to the examination venue
- Prohibited items inside the examination hall include calculators (separate or integrated into watches), cell phones, books, smartwatches, slide rules, notebooks or any written notes
- Candidates should bring their stationery, such as pencils, ballpoint pens, erasers, glue for affixing photos, and a blue ink stamp pad for imprinting the left thumb impression
- Candidates are not allowed to bring any rough sheets from outside. Rough sheets will be provided at the exam center, and upon completion of the test, candidates must submit these rough sheets

Salary and other perks
An SBI clerk typically receives an in-hand salary between Rs 26,000 and Rs 29,000. Besides the basic salary, candidates are eligible for numerous perks and allowances.
