Kalpit Veerval who lives in Udaipur, Rajasthan has topped the Joint Entrance Examination Mains examinations by scoring a perfect 100 percent. The examination was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on April 2, 2017 (offline), April 8 & 9 (online) and the results of the same were released earlier today. The scores and ranks secured by candidates in JEE Mains can help them get a seat of the premier technical institutions of the country. The topper of this year’s examination secured 360 out of 360 marks and he had earlier topped the Indian Junior Science Olympiad and also the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), according to a PTI report.

Over 10.2 lakh students appeared for the JEE mains examination that was conducted across 1781 centres in the country. This exam is for students who want to pursue BE or B.Tech (engineering colleges) qualifications stemming from Indian Institute of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs). Ranks declared along with the JEE Mains examination include both All India and All India category ranking.

Candidates who successfully clear JEE Mains are eligible to sit for JEE Advance. Admission to undergraduate programmes like Bachelors of Engineering (BE), Bachelors of Technology (B. Tech), Bachelor‐Master Dual Degree in Engineering, B.Sc, Bachelors of Architecture (B. Arch) and Pharmaceutical in top IITs is possible only through JEE Advance. CBSE announced the scores and All India Ranks (AIRs) for JEE Mains on April 27, candidates who successfully cleared the Mains examination can register themselves for Advance on April 28.
