The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), will release the official dates for registration soon. The NTA conducts the JEE exam in two sessions, January and April, every year for admission to engineering institutes. The national-level examination will be conducted between January 24 and February 1, 2024, and the second session will be on April 1 and 15, 2024.
Aspirants can visit the official website of JEE Mains for registration, application forms, and other important details: jeemain.nta.nic.in. The NTA has set some eligibility criteria for applicants to follow; otherwise, they would be disqualified even after taking the exam. The important criteria are as follows:
- Eligible students: Candidates who have passed class 12 from a recognized board like CBSE in 2022 or 2023 are eligible to apply for JEE 2024. Also, students who are appearing in 12th grade can sit for the exam.
- Age limit: There is no maximum age to take the JEE Main 2024 exam. Anyone who has completed grade 12 or a comparable exam is eligible to apply for the IIT admission exam.
- Number of attempts: Students may take the JEE Main exam three times in a row. The entrance exam will be administered twice, in January and April.
- Subjects: Candidates for the B.E./B.Tech. program must have passed the qualifying examination in Physics, Mathematics, and one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or Technical Vocational Subjects. Candidates for the B.Arch. program should have achieved passing marks in mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Strategy candidates must have obtained a passing grade in mathematics on the qualifying exam.
In addition to the official announcement, NTA will also reveal the JEE Main reservation requirements. In addition to the eligibility requirements that applicants must meet, it shows the percentage of reservations for JEE Main 2024 by category.
