Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje on Saturday condemned Rahul Gandhi’s “panauti” jab targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
While speaking to reporters, Raje stated that such language and words from a person belonging to the political sphere are highly condemnable, considering their impact on new voters and what they might expect from such leaders.

“I don’t think any person, particularly someone in the political sphere, should use such language. New voters are observing their leaders’ actions,” the BJP leader asserted, as PTI reported.
Earlier, the Election Commission has issued a notice based on a complaint against Rahul Gandhi, alleging that he made ‘wild allegations’ and spoke ‘derisively and offensively about the PM’ during a Rajasthan election rally.

Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Panauti’ remark
During a public rally in Balotra, Rajasthan, Rahul Gandhi reportedly remarked, “Panauti… panauti… Achha bhalaa hamare ladke wahaan World Cup jeetne waale the, par panauti harwaa diya. TV waale ye nahin kahenge magar janta jaanti hai (Our boys were going to win the World Cup, but panauti got them defeated. TV channels will not say this, but the public knows).”
Rahul blamed Modi’s presence in the stadium. ‘PM matlab Panauti Modi,’ he had said. He was referring to India’s defeat in the Cricket World cup against Australia.
