Mizoram Cabinet Ministers, Portfolios: Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) leader Lalduhoma was sworn-in as the new Chief Minister of Mizoram on Friday (December 8), becoming the first non-Congress, non-Mizo National Front (MNF) CM in the state. Along with Lalduhoma, 11 other ministers also took oath, who were administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati. Seven of them were sworn in as cabinet ministers and four as ministers of state. The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Raj Bhavan complex in Aizawl. ZPM legislature party deputy leader K Sapdanga was made the home minister while Lalrinpuii from Lunglei East constituency became the first woman cabinet minister in Mizoram.

Mizoram can have 12 ministers, including the CM, in the 40-member House. Polling took place in the north-eastern state on November 7 in a single phase and counting of votes was held on December 3. The ZPM ousted the Mizo National Front (MNF) headed by outgoing Chief Minister Zoramthanga bagging 27 seats, while the MNF secured 10 seats. In the 2018 elections, the MNF won 26, while the ZPM just had eight seats on its kitty.
