Maharashtra, Jharkhand Election 2024 Highlights: Overall voter turnout at 58.25% in Maharashtra, 67.61% in Jharkhand

On the alleged involvement of NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule and Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole in a Bitcoin scam, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate said, "Supriya Sule has made everything clear. She has appealed the Cyber Crime for an investigation into this. Most importantly, she has filed a defamation case against BJP spokesperson."

"BJP was caught red-handed yesterday while distributing money in Maharashtra. It is rattled after that...People of Maharashtra have seen that the stealth of those who formed the government stealthily has been detected, they are now not only poaching MLAs but also attempting to buy votes. That is why the BJP is rattled and levelling absurd allegations," she said.

Amid voting for the Maharashtra Assembly elections 2024 on Wednesday, the overall voter turnout stood at 32.18 per cent till 1 pm, according to the ECI data. Here’s the district-wise voter turnout –

Amid voting for the Assembly elections, Maharashtra saw an overall voter turnout of 32.18 per cent while Jharkhand recorded a turnout of 47.92 per cent till 1 pm, according to the Election Commission of India (ECI) data.

In Jharkhand, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-Congress-Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) coalition, all INDIA alliance parties, is seeking to retain power, while the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is trying to seize control.

At least 528 candidates, including Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his wife Kalpana Soren, are contesting 38 of the total 81 Assembly seats today. The BJP has fielded candidates in 68 seats while allies AJSU Party in 10, JD(U) in two and Lok Janshakti (Ram Vilas) in one.

They know they're headed towards a disastrous election outcome. That is why they're following down to these cheap measures of putting out an audio clip of Supra Sule and Nana Patole. If you look at the audio clip of Supriya Sule, those who have seen her over the years will tell you neither are the words hers, neither is the accent hers. Clearly, it's a cheap fake AI trying to mislead the voters but the voters of Maharashtra are very clear that they're voting for Maha Vikas Aghadi. They're going to give us a full mandate." (ANI)

In the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Mahayuti and MVA are the key alliances in fray. In Mahayuti, the BJP is contesting 149 seats, Shiv Sena is competing in 81, and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP has candidates in 59 constituencies. Meanwhile, in the MVA alliance, the Congress has fielded 101 candidates, Shiv Sena (UBT) is contesting 95 seats, and NCP (SP) has nominated candidates for 86 constituencies.
