Serchhip Constituency Election Result 2023: Lalduhoma, the founder and president of the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), has won the Serchhip Assembly constituency election, beating his nearest rival of the Mizo National Front by a margin of 2.981 votes. Lalduhoma’s victory was icing on the cake for the Zoram People’s Movement as it cruises to victory with leads and wins in 27 of the 40 constituencies in the state. The counting of votes to the high-profile Serchhip Assembly constituency in Mizoram began at 8 AM.

Lalduhoma, the founder and chief ministerial face of the ZPM, secured 8314 votes to beat his nearest rival and MNF debutant J Malsawmzual Vanchhawng (5332 votes) by a margin of 2,981 votes, data furnished by the Election Commission of India showed. Congress candidate R Vanlaltluanga finished a distant third with 4241 votes. Lalduhoma won the 2018 polls from Aizawl West-1 seat but chose to contest this election from Serchhip. A former IPS officer, he was also part of the security detail of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Lalduhoma Serchhip Election Result 2023 HIGHLIGHTS: Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) founder and Mizoram CM face Lalduhoma has won the Serchhip (Mizoram) Assembly election result.
ZPM founder Lalduhoma WINS from Serchhip. Lalduhoma defeated his nearest MNF rival by a margin of 2,982 votes. J. Malsawmzuala Vanchhawng of the Mizo National Front polled 5332 votes while 8314 votes were polled in favour of Lalduhoma.
ZPM supremo and Chief Ministerial candidate Lalduhoma said that he is “not surprised” at his party’s lead in the Mizoram election results counting. “I am not surprised, this is what I expected… Let the full results come out… The counting process is going on,” he told ANI.
The Lalduhoma-led ZPM appears to cruising towards victory in Mizoram in his debut run. The party has taken a big lead in trends available so far and is ahead in 28 of the 40 Assembly seats in the state. Lalduhoma maintains his lead against his MNF rival.
ZPM founder and CM face Lalduhoma is currently leading against MNF candidate J. Malsawmzuala Vanchhawng by a margin of 1,390 votes. Counting of votes began at 8 AM and two of the four rounds of counting have concluded.
The Zoram People's Movement has gained an early lead against the Mizo National Front and is currently leading in 14 seats compared to 7 for the MNF. The Congress is ahead in 3 seats and the BJP in 2.
