Located in the Andaman Sea, Barren Island is the only confirmed active volcano in South Asia. The waters surrounding Barren Island is known to be among the world’s top scuba diving destinations. Major attractions here are interesting basalt formations, manta rays, topography of past lava flows and colourful coral gardens. The only way to reach this destination is by ship which goes to Barren Island from Phoenix Bay Jetty, Port Blair.
