In an era when technology is reshaping our lives, LullabAI stands out for its blend of innovation and empathy. Developed by Alembic CSR and Havas Life Mumbai, this web-based platform powered with AI empowers speech-impaired mothers to create personalised lullabies in their own voices.
At the core of LullabAI is a sophisticated AI system that transforms short voice samples from speech-impaired mothers into personalised lullabies. The platform utilises advanced data cleaning, augmentation, and model training techniques to capture the essence of a mother’s voice. This voice is then applied to a library of pre-recorded lullabies, creating a deeply personal experience. The result is a lullaby that a mother can play for her child anytime, ensuring that her unique voice and emotions are conveyed.
Lullabies are crucial for a child’s development, fostering emotional bonding and growth especially in India. For speech-impaired mothers, participating in this tradition has been challenging. LullabAI bridges this gap, allowing these mothers to share their voices and emotions with their children.
In India, the AI market was valued at an impressive $4.1 billion in 2023. Among the various sub-segments of IT, machine learning boasts the largest share, estimated at $2.7 billion. The industry is projected to grow to $23.4 billion by 2032.
Sangeeta Barde, CEO at Havas Life Mumbai, India, says, “LullabAI is about touching lives and creating meaningful connections. We are proud to be part of a project that brings such joy and empowerment to mothers.”
The Indian Constitution recognises 22 languages as the official languages spoken across the country; in reality, there are over 120 languages and 270 mother tongues. Initially, LullabAI will launch with a single language and intends to eventually accommodate over 100 languages, both Indian and foreign.
Sachin Talwalkar, chief creative officer at Havas Life Mumbai, says that although LullabAI is currently intended to recreate lullabies, it also has the potential to get into storytelling. He says, “LullabAI can also be a valuable tool for working, busy mothers who want to sing to their babies but are unable to do so. They can even use it to narrate bedtime stories.”
To ensure that this innovative platform reaches as many mothers as possible, Alembic CSR plans to engage its extensive field force of over 3,000. Atul Suri, senior VP & SBU Head at Alembic, says, “They will take the platform to gynaecologists and paediatricians across India, ensuring that no mother misses out on this unique experience.”
