A report by Micheal Page was released which shared insights on increments and salaries across levels in different marketing streams.

The report stated that marketing was one of the highest paying jobs in the world. An average salary hike when switching jobs for a junior and mid level staffer was 25-40% whereas a senior would get an increment of approximately 20-30%. Furthermore, digital marketing, growth manager and growth head were the roles in demand while digital marketing, lead generation and branding were the skills in demand.

Fast-moving consumer durables (FMCD) and Retail sectors provided the highest paid packages for digital marketing with a staffer having experience from 10-15 years can earn upto Rs 1 crore per annum as base salary while the average is set at Rs 75 lakh per annum while staffers with three to five years of experience earn an average base salary of Rs 20 lakh.

Additionally, chief marketing officer (CMO) in consumer tech can earn upto Rs 2 crore per annum as base salary whereas a CMO in tech sales- enterprise software and tech sales- IT Services can earn upto Rs 1.4 crore and Rs 1 crore respectively.
